Interesting article, especially the part about the maximum time it takes for bankruptees to be freed from debt (makes you feel sorry for entrepreneurs in France who have to go into debt to start their business). I think a lot of this stuff

I'm quite suspicious about messing around with sleep too much. If you get up early, you'll eventually have to go to bed earlier, too. (Though apparently there's no 1:1 relationship between sleep debt that you have to repay and time you spen

I've been using Windows 8 for months (always upgrading to the latest version), and don't have any problems whatsoever. In fact, I'm certain the thing actually runs way faster than Win7. This is because I've basically got everything configur

I bet a lot of people just wanted to come along in case they get a free Surface or Windows Phone 8 at the end. ;) As for the success of Windows 8, I think it's simply not possible to estimate how well it'll be received by the average Win7 u

Take a moment to consider what you're actually seeing here: a truly historic event. This mission is so expensive, and has involved the figurative blood and tears of so many extremely talented people, that it will probably always be remember

As nice as that may sound, I don't think Windows 8 is a 'wait' UI. Once you learn how to use it properly it's actually significantly faster than Windows 7.

I doubt this will have a lasting negative impact on the Windows 8 platform, because I suspect that the majority of mainstream users haven't really encoded the 'Metro' name into their minds yet. Still, if this is true, it's not great news fo

Maybe I should have expanded a little. What I meant was that while the WinRT environment is horrible to use on a touchless desktop environment (for me, at least), Windows 8 can easily be changed to feel almost exactly like Windows 7 (which

I've been using Windows 8 for months, and while I've initially had the same reaction about that bloody schizophrenic UI, it's not hard to configure everything to look and feel almost exactly like Windows 7. What actual users will say about

I wonder how the revenue distribution will look like for the Windows 8 Store. Say, a year from now, when things have evened out and an appreciable fraction of Win7 users have upgraded. Given that Microsoft will always be promoting Xbox LIVE

Interesting - and nice to see such an early release. Personally I'm just waiting for the C++/DirectX model to be supported. It makes more sense, because AdDuplex is IMHO best for indie game devs as a hardcoded fall-back position for Microso
