To me, the fact we aren't given full control over when apps update is the main problem. As far as I can tell, Ubuntu's position is still that users shouldn't be allowed to stop updates indefinitely: https://forum.

A example of how irrational hate can make smart people do stupid things, unfortunately. Certain people on their team don't like the PGP standard despite the fact that it is mature, standardized, and proven to work well for code signing

There's a meaningful distinction between happy and comfortable. He might lead a very comfortable life but I have to agree with GP that he doesn't /seem/ to be a very happy person. Of course, I (and you) say this from the

Reddit without a shred of doubt has hosted and continues to host illegal content too. I bet you'd find a goldmine of illegal content if you scanned the smaller subs. You're right about accusations though. It seems that accusation

I think you got it backwards. Reddit not yanking subreddits is an exception that is only afforded to the largest and most visible subs. Reddit absolutely loves to yank smaller subreddits from mods.

This has been going on for a long time now and is to be expected. My real problem is that they completely remove existing functionality from UI without giving the users who relied on it any alternative.

If it was really bad work, then of course not. The problem is that poor quality isn't the reason why they refuse. While not related to the file picker, I personally offered to port an important part of GTK3 to GTK4 (status icon support

Unfortunately, it is. The AGPL exposes licensees to the extraordinary risk of having to disclose any private internal/infra code that integrates with it and, more importantly, the legal and technical costs of doing so. I assure you, ev

I open a new terminal and tab my way to the file I want because it's quicker and less mentally-demanding than solving Gnome's UI puzzles. At least I used to until I had enough and switched to a different file manager.
