I’m expecting the marketing material to not have mistakes in it, especially when the gist of the article surrounding it is “we’re taking it slow because we want to ensure it doesn’t spit bullshit”

I don’t understand this scenario. If someone already posted the answer then asking the question again on SO has no value. If the LLM can automate giving answers then we don’t need SO as much as before.

If this was really an issue for workers we would see emigration to places where firing at a whim isn’t possible (like Western Europe). Last time I checked about 10 times more people emigrate from Europe to US than the opposite.

The underlying complexity isn’t relevant at all when considering such solution, if it makes otherwise business sense and is abstracted away. Otherwise you could make the same argument about your 100 lines python script which invokes god kno

So you assert that parent doesn’t have an internal model of chess? Or that only proved expert systems built specifically to play chess have an internal model of it?

I liked how before he fired most of the staff people were sanctimoniously explaining that Twitter was an incredibly complex system and if you couldn't understand how 4,000 engineers were needed you were an amateur. Now they're gon

I’m not sure to understand the point of setting up your own website in 2023. I mean it’s a fun endeavour by itself but if the point is really to communicate you’re 100% better of using one of the numerous blogging / microblogging optio

Yeah let’s pretend that browsers built-in password managers don’t exist and can’t be used because they are mere “side hustles” (and password management is a very serious business that requires dedicated companies and not at all something a

What a weird rant. Most people don’t even use a desktop anymore but somehow it counts that Linux runs on servers and supercomputers (and Android which apparently is the same kind of things as Fedora or Gentoo). Linux “on the desktop” is unu

These kind of concerns are so funnily out of touch. The real dangers always turns out to be crazily bad security practices (the kind obvious to everyone after the fact), not theoretical attacks that probably weren’t ever demonstrated in the

It’s impossible that it was the US that blew Nordstream, because it would have made the European allies very upset, and there is NO WAY the US wanted to make them upset.

This is so sad. Cruises ships are literally the opposite of seeing the world. You’re stuck in a floating mall, in a place probably populated at 90% by wealthy boomers on holidays. What a way to waste your prime years.
