I learned how to localize sound events by the differences in the sound arrival time. And I learned how to keep sub microsecond time accuracy. Then I put the two together and made a raspberry pi sound localizer. https://github.com

I don't think they are saying that. They are actually giving you an opportunity to present a side that might not present based on just the details of your CV. You can help them understand you better. Surely this is a good thing rather

So that is a very selfish attitude from the poor bastards who have dis-trust from their government because their government screwed them over. For example, in 2005 I moved next door to someone that a year later was busted for growing hennep

Localize to car parks that was supposed to say. One node almost 5km away. Another more than 2km. One more than 3km. But they all converge nicely to a small area.

Sound localizing. I was intensely passionate about it when I saw the possibility to do it well on a Raspberry Pi. There were quite a few more problems than so expected which is why it took five months (of weekends) to complete it well. But

The localization calculations you can do on an Android, recording audio aligned to less than a millisecond of error I’m pretty sure you cannot.

Me and a bunch of friends have systems setup kilometers apart and have fun doing forensic analysis to determine where all the explosions from illegal fireworks come from. In the Netherlands this happens several times a week in many places s

This uses the PPS signal on a GPS to trigger an interrupt to sync the time. Not doubt you would have that on a mobile phone. I suspect that mobile phones use NTP which could be quite a number of milliseconds out. However, it depends what ex

Combine microsecond GPS clock with a sound recorder on an Pi and get a cool sound localization system.

Maybe by the same token, if it figures out you are lying it won’t help you at all.

Except that changing your sim card doesn't anonymize you because your phone still has the same IMEA number and that's logged as well. That's just a joke you see in movies.

More than that. In the Netherlands the prosecutors are allowed to lie under oath in court. You might then ask "Well what value has the court then? Good question. The thing is, this doesn't just work against suspects. This works wh

Hey don't knock it till you've tried it. I'm not saying don't use photos, what I'm saying is for future events like these there is a tool that can with the greatest of ease provide really valuable insights.

The sbts-aru project can also be run on batteries, it doesn't need a network and quickly converges to sub-microsecond time accuracy. A Pi zero would run for 24 hours on a 15000 mAh power bank. Reporters could deploy a few of these arou

And photos can't be manipulated? If you use sound, the sound timing can come from multiple independant sources and any outliers, i.e. manipulated ones, can be left out. It would be a lot easier to have multiple sound sources for future

And while you are at it, sync your webcams from this stratum #1 time source to make it more accurate as well. Easy installation with just one command :) Up in the air within 20 minutes.

Now if you install a few Raspberry Pi's with a cheap GPS and a cheap microphone you could likely use my sound localization project and perform very accurate localization and know for sure in future incidents: https://github.

At a certain point you have to say enough is enough. The same for the cyber resilience act that spits in the face of millions of open source developers who collectively are the only reason governments have all their nice toys to play with.

If the governments vote laws that are aggressive towards the people, then the software developers need to make licenses for their software disallow government use until they start to be more citizen friendly. There are a lot of software dev
