Sometimes yes. That 0.1% of sites could be me trying to buy a movie ticket or something. I'm not gonna cancel plans with a friend to see a movie because I need to protest Google that badly.

I'm giving it a shot on my work machine. Device management doesn't give me any options other than Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari anyway. I do like and use Safari for non-work tasks (mainly HN scrolling) but it has some issues t

I figure if anyone should be able to financially support putting out a decent, well-tested browser it should be the second most valuable company on the planet. But indeed, like nearly everything else Microsoft makes, it's trash.

Hey, give them a break. Arc is like... 2 years old. You can't expect anyone to maintain legacy code THAT OLD! That's like 17 hot new frameworks out of date!

I've been trying to find a Chrome replacement since they finally cut the cord on manifest v2. I know Firefox is the "right" option, and I'm fully in favour of chipping away at Chromium marketshare (even if the EU is dete

I'm surprised they still support the old web UI which is the only way to make reddit usable these days. Once they pull the plug on that I'll be finally done (though I'm already so inactive it won't make a difference real

Paper Mario Sticker Star is not a great or even good game, but I did love the effect where they used the accelerometer so if you moved the 3DS around, foil stickers would reflect back and forth. It's a fun effect.

It's crazy how night and day the quality tank was after they essentially killed their API. The good contributors were all pushed away or became less active. And with the official app constantly trying to push posts from random subreddi

That issue exists because of the community that spawned on top of what was built just to be a utility. Not the people using it for its original intended purpose.

What was funny is if their service is working good - i.e. someone linked an image from their site and it displays for the user - you don't even notice the work the host is doing. But when they pulled an image and you're just shown

It's not much better on mobile. I just checked a few apps on my iPhone: Instagram, TikTok, Duolingo are all about 500mb each. And many of these apps are gigabytes when you use them for a bit and it caches things. I just cleared Snapcha

The iPhone minis were the first one to not sacrifice on those things, except for battery life compared to other iPhones. Same great display tech as the normal sized iPhone of that year, same SoC, same camera. Even with the smaller battery,

Apple said the mini iPhones underperformed, but they were not some sort of commercial failure. They sold millions of units. Numbers most Android OEMs could only dream of for a single flagship model. Current day Apple is all about optimizing
