Have you seen decompiled code? That's all that compiler cares about, it is not pretty.

Lack of this alias was one of the things that put me off regarding ripgrep. I'm using the silver searcher instead as it is plenty fast and it's CLI makes sense for me and doesn't change, AFAIR it's even mostly the same a

I don't know enough specifics, so I didn't assume anything :) In fact I was not aware of non-flash SSDs. Because of the Internet age there probably is not much place for write once media anyway, even it would be somewhat cheaper.

Are there write-once SSDs? They would have a tremendous capacity. Probably good for long term backups or archiving. Also possibly with a log structured filesystem only.

I have a scheme to give addresses per service, but I do this with gmail on my domain. It goes like $ACCOUNT+$RANDOMLETTERS@$DOMAIN.$TLD, of course there are notable number of services that do not accept addresses with "+". I prefe

Thanks, I missed this explanation years ago when I studied industrial control systems! I truly appreciate it. Though I wonder if that's me that got older and have better understanding of things that I now think I get it, or is it your

International Misery is made of many more or less separate National Miseries. This particular one, that affects the author personally the most is ending.

Sorry! I can't edit the comment now, but at least it is not on the front page anymore. I know that it is miles different then posting direct link, because people are averse to any kind of work, but I found the site in the first search.

Ooops. I sometimes totally ignore all those notices, because of all the cookie and consent garbage. But I guess if one does a blog post using the language it probably is somewhat ready for distribution.

For confused people: it's written in author's language Hare. The language uses QBE as backend [2]. I wonder what author has against Zig (probably at least current dependence on LLVM). It reminds me of Myrddin [3], which AFAIR is c

I generally like CSD, but I think SSD support should be a standard. But I just wonder about a side solution: wouldn't it be possible to do a CSD wrapper app for apps not rendering their own decorations? It would be a proxy Wayland comp
