Well, you can get access to the email on all three so it's not a huge problem for vast majority of whom only maintain single email address.

I would be hesitant to join a facebook group as a student and young people increasingly don't have an account. The only reason to make one these days is for HR checks, millennial rituals, government etc.

I can understand removing dead comments because they tend to be more accurate in terms of what the site isn't for but faded comments definitely have mixed signal to noise ratio. It may not be evenly split but it's somewhere around
