I have Optiplex Micros too. If they have a Wifi card then you can convert that to a 3rd SSD drive, perfect for RAID, mirrored ZFS etc

I'm in Hungary and for the equivalent of $120 you can get an enterprise refurbished mini PC (Dell, HP, Lenovo) with a much better CPU (i3-8100T, i5-8500T, i3-10100T for example) and storage options here. I'm running Dell Optiplex

https://massgrave.dev/ MS doesn't care about piracy at all. They'd rather let you pirate it than losing you by switching to Linux or Mac

Might as well use Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 at that point, supported until 2034. Been using as a daily driver since it came out last year, pretty much the same good experience as with the Windows 10 LTSC.

First thing I turn off in every single game is motion blur. It’s only useful in racing sims to have more sense of speed but that’s also a personal taste. Motion blur made a bit more sense on the 30fps Xbox 360 and PS3 games.

Personally I think immutable distros are the future on the desktop for the average user, so yes not for anyone reading and posting here on HN. Fedora Kinoite is excellent for example.

What OSes can be run on this? I've seen people using Ubuntu and Debian but sounds like bascially anything that has an ARM64 version? What about BSD (ignoring CUDA)?
