A lot of traffic lights in the US are actually "not just green". The traffic lights have an abnormally high amount of blue light for being an overall green light, to help people with red-green colorblindness to tell the difference

Wow, wonder what other electrical connector standard the EU is making everyone adopt as well?

For most people the actual fine is peanuts but the insurance premium hike is debilitating (you'll be paying 4-5 digits extra from T0 to Tinfinity depending on circumstances)

As someone that wants to go on ski trips, it's the exact nightmare scenario for EVs. In nominal conditions it's a long, cold trip with lots of people inside, lots of shit in the trunk, and potentially stuff on the roof harming aer

I was always surprised why QAM uses a rectangular I/Q coordinate rather than a radial one like how 8PSK does it. It would seem like a radial pattern maintains better ISI margin just from inspection.

Life should basically be anything that's nontrivially complex, self-replicating, and self-propagating. I think the only wiggle room there is "nontrivial".

I'm telling you that and cables isn't the only thing you need.

you also need a very unusual DAC to view this with high fidelity--you need a high sample rate and it needs to be dc coupled.

some cars have this system and yes, there's a connector dangling out the back of a brake pad (more like the side, but you get the point)

superconductors are lossy at AC (less so than regular conductors, but significantly above negligible) a very large bulk of the loss is through dielectric loss too. that one you can't get rid of with superconductors.

that's the wrong way to look at this. what i see in this noisy measurement is nothing interesting. that always means: a) the noise is obscuring something interesting b) there is nothing interesting for a), if it's practical and&#x

that's almost literally the definition of noise. I'm saying the results are useless because the noise floor is obscuring any interesting behavior (if any). Some people are saying "well, the Tc is 160K, so this result is inval

I know, I'm just saying their test condition has a really high noise floor and once you dive into the noise floor there is no meaningful result.

The Fig 3a)b) graphs are not showing superconductivity. That just looks like the resistance dips below the ~1e-5 mark and goes goes deep into the noise. That just looks like a normal conductor that has a positive temperature coefficient. ed

I really don't understand this comment. It has no substance other than "stop complaining, you're wasting energy". I don't even know what's a good response to this. Why even do anything?

are you sure? there's a lot of "normal" cars that are full EPAS. Like the Prius. I know stuff like the MR2 is like that, but I'm guessing that's because the engine is in the wrong place to have normal power steering

when an "adversarial" lab (as in, competing with the original lab) tries to replicate and succeeds, you can be pretty damn sure it's legit.

I wanted to add but my morning poop time was over so never had a chance to write this. If you have two capacitors, say C1 and C2, and say their capacitance is both C. Say C1 is charged up to 2V. The energy stored in that cap is 1/2 CV^

I was one of the people who said power is wasted in wires. When the charged stored inside a chip needs to change (like go from high to low), that energy associated with the charge needs to go somewhere. Currently most of the charge is dissi
