The classification model runs offline. I can say this because i had it classify a lot of pics while I was out on a trip with no internet. But i do think it fetches newer models given the chance.

Thanks a lot for creating it and pushing it forward. It's my go-to tool for monitoring dashboards and also some simple interactive data dashboards. Never had any issues with it (and the ones I had were promptly fixed by the devs and th

I think you'll find Debezium ( http://debezium.io ) interesting. Specially it's embedded mode where it's not coupled to Kafka. Also,do look at the Outbox Pattern. It's basically what you are describing.

But there are a lot of usecases where ACID is not needed and we can do with eventually consistent states. Btw, you do get C and D.

RedHat has a maven plugin for this. Let me see if I can ask someone to share more details.

How do you handle listening to songs on mobile devices across the internet? I'm currently using Resilio Sync (trying to hack around for selective sync support in Syncthing) meanwhile to get albums I want onto my phone. I haven't y

Hmmm, I thought something happened recently or it's just confirmation bias from my end cause I've been seeing a little too much lately. RedHat has some nice software designers - design for extensibility is visible in every product

Is there an up to errata to track what has changed in to 30(?) years? This was quite easy to follow and worked up from basics. Don't really see such well written documentation these days.

Hyper-V is a type 1 hypervisor. Even windows runs within it when enabled. Comparing to KVM would be better rather than VBox or VMWare. Try VBox with KVM to see same effect.

You might want to upstream these. I'm sure people will find this useful.

It seems like a lot of people have seen the light now and are evaluating Keycloak even though it has been around for so long. did something happen recently that I'm missing out on?

I "hoard" because there is a lot of media I own that I can't find elsewhere. I had stopped buying physical media and ripping them to my disks in the last 2 years and moved full time to streaming - Spotify for discovery, Apple

I'd use this over cgit. For exposing a read-only view of my repo on a barebones server. This does not include issues, pull-requests etc. and that is useful in some scenarios.

Not all data stores. You can go quite far with an out of the box Redis instance or even PostgreSQL. No fiddling needed unless you are in triple digit QPS ranges.

I agree with all your points but a minor nit pick that Solr has been horizontally scalable for quite a while now.

Thanks for sharing. That is very useful. In case somebody is wondering the output looks like: $ ip -br -color a eth0 x.x.x.x/16 xxxx::xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx/64 lo 127.0.0.1/8 ::1/128

See the following videos by Scott Hanselman. They walk through a lot of things and a pretty functional end result. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0PPcUUtHlw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHhiMf_6exY

I agree 100% with you. Thanks for writing it out in a better way than I ever would. I think the main cause for how we feel is the lack of focus on refactoring things and repaying tech debt within our orgs.

We had something like this built at my previous org using nothing but Jenkins API and plain docker with a few bare metals for persistent stuff (RDBMs, Solr, Redis etc.). It was created circa 2014 so no fancy stuff like K8s. I miss it a lot

LastPass's Android app works. But maybe you can try out Bitwarden while you're at it. It's open source and can be self-hosted (and is audited).

Thanks for making it all so painless. It's so good I forget it's even there. Easily the best piece of infrastructure tech I've ever used. Also, to folks who wish to "pay" for the certs, you can do so at https:/

The only successful formatter are ones who don't have any knobs to tune. The reason a formatter exists is to make all codebases look consistent, not to cater to your personal style. This is one area Golang got it right with gofmt.

I agree with your points but just want to add my anecdotal experience here from India that not all companies with great internal tooling are unicorns. They generally tend to be the slow but steadily moving companies who take their time and
