This is both true and false. Apple stores keys on the device so they can't read your old messages, but say they want to start reading messages of a particular user, they can simply issue a new key and store it on the device and the ser

I am a huge Elm fan, and I have used it in many contexts. It is fair to say that in the last 10 years React has most influenced the way we write our UI and Elm has most influenced the way we manage our state on the frontend.

All I want is official Swift support for an http server, and a web frontend framework using SwiftUI.

That is nice. I think many inside Canada wouldn't mind relocating for a role like this, but I doubt someone would be willing to trade California's winter for Alberta's, regardless of the job.

I am like many others here surprised that this is in Camrose, Alberta. I didn't think big American companies would open an office here outside of the typical tech hubs (Vancouver, Toronto, Waterloo, and Montreal).

VueJS and Elm are not the same thing. Vue is just a JS library. Elm is a an entire language with its own tools and ecosystem.

I think every team at Apple uses what makes more sense for the project. The official SwiftUI docs and tutorials use Vue.js for example: https://developer.apple.com/tutorials/swiftui/creating-and-c...

Anything declared in Elm is immutable so types on constants become way less relevant.

I wouldn't call React a framework, it's more like a library.

I would much rather have a "if you aren't in extreme pain then it's not a problem" doctor, than one who would over diagnose every minor issue.

Autopilot is a miss-leading product name. It implies automation of the process of driving. It doesn't function like an autopilot and requires no co-pilot. Taking a technical term used in aviation is meaningless and dangerous.

People that keep comparing FB to Myspace simply don't understand scale. Having 2 billion users is not a 1000x better than having 2 million ones. It's more like a million times. The network effect compounds non-linearly. Facebook (

I would be much happier if Apple didn't "force" me to update my iPad with a pop up message every day. It was running smooth like butter, even with an older version of iOS.
