I think actually it's because we fear death. Even if you're an atheist and know that when you die nothing will happen besides you disappearing, you still don't want to do it. Even people who commit suicide often would rather

Depends on how much your children need you actually. I've read somewhere that part of the reason women lose ability to bear children past around 40 is so they can take care of their grand children because that is usually more important

That's a very interesting point. While AI is not at a point to write programs, it's probably going to eliminate the need for many programs. A majority of programs exist in order for people to use them to achieve some result. If th

It's not the policy per se as much as the agenda and the nationalism. Humans are tribal creatures.

I agree with GP. Erdogan is clearly trying to create confusion. If it really was a small faction, things would be under control by now.

The only viable intervention is education. Case in point: school lunch in Japan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vwC51FxP10 I have an eery feeling that something like this will never fly in the US. People will complain abou

It's not just kids rebelling. It has all to do with communities breaking down and social relations deteriorating. Teenagers in say, Japan, wouldn't so much rebel by using drugs. There are tons of less dangerous ways for teenagers

Addiction is a personal psychological problem. How can the government intervene? The government cannot make you happy. Look at obesity rates. People get addicted because their life sucks. How can the government make their life not suck?

I think you're straw-manning here. The intent is certainly to make it more difficult, specially in the open. The premise is, if you want to do drugs, you're on your own. There's so much risk. You'll be dealing with bad p

It's way more plausible to assume that the average person (the average family person, not the average hippy) doesn't like to live in a neighbourhood where his children see prostitutes and drug users day in and day out.
