Will, speed breaks when you consider a specific instant in thing because there is no time span nor a distance the be traveled.

I think you misunderstood my post (or perhaps I wasn't able to articulate the point clearly). My University computer science was also broken up as you describe. The introductory class was in Pascal, the next course was Java, and then e

I find this sentiment somewhat surprising. Limits is incredibly easy to link to real physical things: movement, speed, acceleration. If speed is distance over time, what's the speed of a moving object at a very specific instant?

It seems to me that you are trying to achieve equality of outcome, or you assume that all people are fundamentally the same so that any disparity in outcome must be a result of a fundamental inequality in society. One of the GP comments m

I wonder what would happen if every 20 or so rounds, each player is given a new set of dollars (say 5 dollars), to sort of simulate UBI.

I would say that having high grades has no correlation with business success. The required traits and skills for the two things are vastly different. (Think Tesla vs Edison, and Wozniak vs Jobs). Sure, if you measure it across the entire po

People who are idealistic and think that since I could do it then surely anyone can. The hardest truth is that innate talent and intelligence matters, and that some people just can't do it, while others will breeze through it.

What kind of world do you live in where a random dude form the street has a 100% success rate in neurosurgeries? Well I guess if he performed zero surgeries then he automatically gets 100% success rate.

I see what you're saying, but I think the comparison to a falling ball is not fair. The brain is doing purposeful data processing. Yes it's just signals doing their thing following the laws of physics but that's also what com

No one knows whether you are a white male or a green apple if all that identifies you is a screen name. Good code speaks for itself, and competent programmers will quickly recognize you.

The computer doesn't do arithmetics either. Signals just pass through wires and gates according to their nature (or as we might say: while obeying the laws of physics).

The brain is obviously perfectly capable of doing lots arithmetics very quickly, otherwise it couldn't process vision and audio signals.
