I'd like to think these things are treated differently. Browsing to a web page and getting cookied is different from actively choosing to run some software. Gets more complicated with web apps, but I'm personally willing to accept

Access to contacts seems like something that would be handled by the likes of owncloud.

Even if you didn't mean 'for', compare the mobile service company 'Three' which was named to refer to 3g and are doing fine with the same name even though they now sell 5g service.

I read it as 'for' but I'd still call it a bit misleading regarding what it can do. However, this is a very fast moving topic and a month from now this entire post will be about as relevant as the Saxon Chronicles.

Since he already didn't need to work another job to pay the bills, the extra money from the Nobel prize does not make a difference in this case as he can already put all his time into writing.

I have the impression that their advertising and cloud businesses are just not welcome in China, and if that's correct then it's all practicality and no ethics involved. All the market analyst comments I've read about moving

"Google for instance decided to just pull out of the market, I have a lot of respect for that. " Seems unlikely to have been a matter of principle rather than practicality; Google only recently moved Pixel phone production away fr

There's a variety of viewpoints on here. One view repeatedly expressed does not, fortunately, preclude other views.

Unless the law changes to make drug companies culpable in this situation (which is my interpretation of the post I replied to) then as things stand the definition does indeed represent the territory.

""drug overdose" which is not categorized as a homicide but very well should be" An abrupt 'rise in homicide' caused by changing the definition will just undermine the credibility of the numbers.

Problem with the ASA is that they can only react to advertising that's out there and by the time they do, the campaign is usually done.

Agree. 15m achieves two things: not a lot of money in Tesla terms but enough that it is noticed and would be a motivation to avoid similar claims. And enough after legal costs that the plaintiff never has to work there again.

You've concluded that paying nothing is a result of living in the UK, but the UK applies a means test and a purpose test to that help: free is only for people with savings below some threshold or for some medical situations.

There is no right answer. Even if you could move your wife and family (and job etc) to where your parents live, that could separate her from her parents.
