I always feel a bit confused when seeing people discuss VC-funded hosting providers like Heroku, Vercel, Render, etc. Many people remember moving off Heroku, but few seem to realize that the "new" providers are going to have the s

I haven't used Racket much since the CS rewrite, but it's slimmer now, isn't it? I remember Racket feeling a bit chunky when I was using it more, years ago, but I thought part of the rewrite was to address that (among all the

Yes, you can put Zig code in a separate file.

Zig is also used in an excellent way by burrito[0]. I've also used zig for compiling NIFs written in C/C++/Objective-C, since `zig cc` makes cross-compiling much nicer. I wish zig got more use and attention in the Erlang ecos

Syntax highlighting here can work correctly, actually. Also, I'm not sure why it's not better documented in Zigler, but you can also write the code in a separate file just fine.

I appreciate the added context. I agree, this kind of flip-floppy, turbulent thing does of course happen. My whole comment was poorly written. I was mostly trying to say that it seems unlikely that some time ago someone said "we should

This doesn't make sense given what the person you're responding to is claiming. If several people over several non-overlapping time periods have the same positive experience then decline, what you're stating is that the compa

For offline use it can be good when dealing with large amounts of data. Anything from like an audio library to 3D modeling software. Changes can be made locally and persisted and then you can sync things server side regularly or when online

Interesting! I worked in an Indian food truck - owned by an Indian family - in Tucson, and we had "chili chicken" (with that spelling) on the menu. I wonder if they spelled it differently at some point.

I've never seen or heard of anyone using "chilly" to mean anything other than cold. I'm from Portland, but I've also lived in San Francisco and Tucson.

I think calling breaded chicken breast a "wing" is the more clear issue. If I sold "bone-ful chicken breast" which was actually just a chicken wing, I'd expect to get in some kind of trouble. I don't understand

One of the frustrating things is even if you can get a prescription, pharmacies run out randomly. They'll often tell you neighboring pharmacies that have it, but you can't just pick it up down the street - you have to have your pr

I think this is a suggestion made with the best intentions, but hopefully the absurdity of it isn't lost. We don't suggest people should keep their glasses in their cases on the weekend, or avoid insulin on holidays.

Ruby conventionally separates methods which modify the object from ones that don't by appending an exclamation mark to the method name. So `sort` returns a new sorted list, whereas `sort!` modifies the original list.
