This has been possible on ChromeOS (i.e. Chromebooks) for a while now and the experience is subpar. Most apps are not designed for desktop and the UX just feels unrefined. This could be fixed, of course, but on the app creators' side.

Kind of. I've seen a startup go pretty far (series A, at least, with thousands of customers) with Google Sheets + low code integrations with those sheets.

Plan9 is known for having very accessible code.

"But I'll argue that Accessibility is actually more important than Security because dialing Accessibility to zero means you have no product at all, whereas dialing Security to zero can still get you a reasonably successful product

Series F? Is that a bad smell or is it considered normal nowadays? Genuine question.

I like to imagine post-apocalyptic scenarios sometimes and mastering retro tech restoration would be a game changing skill :)

This is also true for configuring videoconf rooms in Teams. You have to set a magic flag via PowerShell. The whole Microsoft 365 environment smells like bit rot.

Following the current trend at Microsoft, it will probably be called "Microsoft Azure for Desktops" :)

I _think_ that Rob used Acme in OSX, but I can't find this source.

One of Go's creator did a lot of the initial coding in Acme[0] :D [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acme_(text_editor)

I've heard that R is an array language. Can it compare with the likes of APL?

Cash enables crimes. Guns. What about cars? I don't agree with this argument, but then again, I'm talking more in a philosophical way than a practical one.

Money laundering is "despicable"? That's quite a strong sentiment for a white collar crime which basically states that money not tracked by the government is illegal.

I gave it a shot at my company, but we ended up using Redash. The UX for business people was much better on Redash. We've considered Metabase as well, but the lack of SSO login was a show stopper for us.

I've been using Pulumi for a new project after using Terraform for a long time. It's a little weird at first, but then it clicks and actually feels quite nice. The Input/Output logic with its async behavior is the weird part,

Power Automate. We tried Zapier as well and it's much better, but the business people were already burned out when we tried it.

I've tried to buy into this philosophy and ecosystem in my company (I'm the CTO). We have a lot of inneficient processes and I thought that by creating a few flows as an example and giving some training to business people they wou

It matters for portability. I'm not saying it's the most important requirement, of course, but it's C strongest point.

Except that Rust compilers seem incredibly hard to implement, as opposed to C.

The politicians are probably much less powerful than the cartels (if they are not allies). To try to pass a bill to decriminalize all drugs would probably fail and get you killed.

Forgot to add: I'd prefer to pay for a cheaper plan that offers SSO than to self-host it "for free" and not have SSO.

I wouldn't include that in enterprise, since you are creating difficulties for small companies to onboard with you. There are some companies that include SSO in the initial plans, like Zendesk, and they get us to happily pay for the pl

All languages are converging to the ultimate language: The TypePyGon! Jokes aside, I wish our tools were more "final". When is a programming language done regarding the pain it was meant to solve?

Nowadays, I'm more tempted to use something more mouse focused for my geek itches. Like Acme, for example. Neovim looks cool, but I've long realized that I spend a lot more time reading than writing code. The automations and flexi
