Quora has this nasty dark pattern where they send you spam e-mail with different senders for each "space". If you simply click on "Block this sender" in your e-mail client, it will not work, since they will send e-mails

Looks good, but I think the adjective "modern" to be overly aggressive towards other design trends. From what I saw, the design trend here is for a flat and rounded interface with dynamic searches.

Something similar happened to No Man's Sky. After a specific update, all planets became very similar regarding their topology. It became boring :(

The first thing is to ask for a staff to be hired. You need to use the momentum of your own hiring to get this new staff approved.

I'd bet on a future language that makes it easy to program professionally on mobile devices. Yes, I know that for us "real" programmers this is dreadful, but it would make programming more accessible and this could have inter

How does your company protect itself against supply chain attacks on NPM? At my company, we try to keep dependencies at a minimum, but I doubt this is effective as a protective measure.

I've tried this with my current company, where the majority is not tech savy. The business analysts had immense difficulty in creating and maintaining automations on their own. And it gets worse: the few devs that we have at the compan

I've often read here that Lisp is a language that teaches you new ways of thinking about code. I've implemented a big Scheme project in the past and although "code is data" is interesting, I didn't have any "ah

I agree with you, but I get a feeling that all points you've mentioned can be fixed and still maintain the same retro aesthetics. Isn't it an implementation issue rather than a design issue? Genuinely curious.

In my case (Pristiq), it was a net positive. My libido decreased (but never desapeared) and I've never had erectile disfuncion so far. Totally worth it for me, with my specific metabolism.

Windows has the tracking and telemetry requirement that Linux doesn't have to deal with. It must be tough spying on everything that the user does and keep the interface responsive enough :)

There is another perspective: these 10% are more vulnerable to a stocks pricing crisis. They are taking most of the risk to themselves.

Slightly off topic, but what's the deal with Azure Functions cold start times in the Consumption (i.e. serverless) plan? I get cold start times in the multi seconds range (sometimes huge values, like 20s). Am I doing something wrong? O

What's the option? If I don't use a public cloud, my competitors will and they will outcompete me with a much smaller operation cost and a myriad of services (AI, etc) that are simple to use.
