After turning on airplane mode, quit Signal by swiping it up in the app chooser (that you get by swiping up from the bottom of the screen), then launch Signal again. Now turn airplane mode off.

No need to wait. You can buy the book right now, as it’s being published in Manning’s Early Access Program. You get it in epub, mobi and pdf formats, with updates as new chapters are written. And the hard copy when it’s done, if you signed

Ouch! I am a happy user too. But Akamai is all about the enterprise, it seems, and most likely don't care about us common folks. We can only hope that they will allow the former kryptco developers to spend time maintaining it, if it be

It's funny how that works. This story may be only tangentially related, but here goes: A few years back, I was visiting the local ARM offices in Trondheim, Norway. I happened to mention something about the iPhones using their processor

Highly unlikely, I think. The letters are too crisp. And the way the text follows the corners, while cleverly done, don’t reflect the way real graffiti would be done.

There are production delays due to the pandemic, so few people can answer that (for v2). I have one on order, batch 2. Delivery was supposed to be in July, but now they say September.

If I understand this correctly, you need a malicious sqlite database file, which I don’t think you could create with sqlite itself. Which means, in order to exploit this, you first have to get this malicious database onto their computer. So

Given a salted hash, you can test passwords many orders of magnitude faster than you can do online. As some attackers can control a botnet, limiting attempts by ip has limited value. If you limit by username and time, you open the door to a

I think I can throw some light on this one. (Sorry, no references. I read about this, but can’tremember where.) Some time years ago, the US air force tried to find out, using statistics, how to design cockpits to fit most pilots. So they di

In Frederik Pohl’s The years of the city , gendered pronouns are completely gone. Instead of he or she, there is “e”. His/her is “er”, and him/her is “um”. Too bad it didn’t catch on.

I was going to be that guy and say “man spctl”, but that usage isn’t listed there. If you run spctl with no arguments, it will tell you, however. The man pages on macos really do leave something to be desired.
