I just realized how much I was influenced by the demo scene in what I program and create. Great documentary.

You can mount /tmp in RAM, making the computer faster and avoiding ssd usage. I use it for rendering and manipulating large collections of files. Logs are there too.

I've edited over 100 videos on Kdenlive. I find it good enough.

The only way I would find this acceptable was if the government applied this to themselves. I want to be able to hear all their conversations, to know where they are, who they meet and talk to, who pays them money, how many bank accounts an

How would you know if a program you downloaded had been modified to send files from your hard drive to a server? I think it can be easily done without an antivirus noticing.

Great work. I've been wishing posts had tags so I could subscribe to some topics and avoid others. Apart from the technical side, I find the light blue text hard to read.

Not sure if it's a good idea, but maybe someone would enjoy the option of copying the comments as flat text added to the caption. Like "Caption first... Flickr comments: 1. bla 2. bla"

Recently it's been suggested that more women should create startups, that actually everybody should. This post suggests to me that maybe it's not such a great idea after all.

Looking at the latest Wikileaks release ( http://wikileaks.org/the-spyfiles.html ) it makes me think that this Carrier IQ thing, if it is used for getting to our personal data, is just a pixel in the complete picture.

I used to think I better avoid installing a custom ROM in my phone because it might contain software exactly like this one. This really upsets me. Time to check CyanogenMod out.

I think the only thing wrong with Unity is that it came without instructions. My dad, a non computer expert, updated to a recent Ubuntu and wondered where did all the menus go to. He called me saying that he needed help. Even I'm a power us

I think a good game and a game with good graphics are two unrelated things. What would my mom say? This game looks a bit better than this other game? Or this game looks 100,000x better than this other one :)

I don't see in that wiki references to similar projects, for example http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freifunk which is used in areas of Germany. I heard the traffic in such networks can slow them down until barely usable.
