Because it (mostly) doesn't actually work. It looks like it works because it exposes bias in both patients and researchers. This is why it's more effective with subjective and self reported symptoms like pain, nausea, etc. A great short art

I'm not associated with feedly or their user but I'm guessing they need those permissions for getting the rss feed url from the web page and for detecting the current active tab. Probably to display an appropriate icon. It does sound scary

I don't hate this decision. I probably won't upgrade as soon as it comes out, but in my opinion linux ecosystem needs competition in the display server segment. If they screw it up there are plenty distros to choose from.

Building browser extensions with trigger's tools is really straightforward if you're familiar with Chrome/Safari/Opera/...'s extension api. The most surprising thing for us was that IE extension mostly(3 lines of IE specific code) just work
