Actually the spike is in 2010-04. I don't know that it's really related, but Drupal began switching from CVS to Git in 2010-03. I know a lot of people (myself included) looked at Git for the first time because of that.

Why would you limit how many models people can add to a free account? You're basically telling people not to share. If I'm paying for a Pro account but hit 101 models, my only option is to shell out 14 times more money for a Business accoun

Semantically, a meaningful class or id shouldn't always need to be qualified by the element type. There are certainly times when you'd want to, though, if the element type changes the meaning. E.g., An e-commerce site that displays products

Google added the same "feature" to the mobile Reader app and it caused the same problem. It happened to me every time I used it. Solution? I stopped using Reader. Well done, Google.

Chrome 17 added a "feature" that blocks http resources from loading on an https connection unless the user manually approves it every time. Sounds like a good idea, but it broke all sorts of Google sites and widgets because Google violates

Why is not an issue in Opera and Firefox? Do they have smaller maximum caches? Or do they notify you of the background transfers?
