I agree with this also. I'm not living in the USA, but from afar it looks like overmedication is a very valid concern that should be explored more. I draw the line at overly dismissal point of views, telling those who suffer to just pu

This mentality is the biggest part of the problem. "Lack of discipline", hah! With ADHD, with autism spectrum, whenever you label something that's caused by a different brain wiring, something that's caused by something

Also first time in a long time Rider is supporting it from day one. I was ready to wait for a month plus to enjoy the goodies.

This one was weird to me at first too, coming from Python. Nowadays, the ones I use have reasonable licenses and pricing, like ImageSharp. Free until 1M gross revenue, cheap afterwards. I support this type of dual licensing wholeheartedly.

That’s more or less what I do, but in an expanded way. It’s not coding in English, but giving Claude memory about how the code base works, how it’s structured, what features available, why things are created etc. This is how we work too, we

With Claude Code, you need to create the docs beforehand, not after. For my latest project, I have 20k+ lines of markdown docs to guide it, with great success. Some of them are generic rules, some of them describes how I code, some of them

For CRUD/UI heavy web apps, it can. I have probably wrote ~5% of the code I produced in the last 2 months, but I've read and verified and corrected every line of code. Output increase is substantial. But I'm not expecting tha

It doesn't have Junie (Jetbrains AI Agent) yet, but I'm talking about the agents. I'm happy with Claude Code. I just want Cursor Tab in there. I use it for quick edits & refactoring, not writing new code, and it's da

I’m paying $20/m just for tab, and willing to pay $40/m just to have it in Rider so I can return back to using single IDE.

From the recent threads, it feels like the other half is totally, willfully ignorant. Hence the responses.

Interesting nobody has mentioned Nikita. X has hired Nikita Bier, of Gas and tbh fame ( https://x.com/nikitabier ), as head of product some days ago. He posted a meme earlier today which may or may not be related to this.

Spot on. Current gen LLMs also has the ability to mimic your code style. I always point it to existing code, and the result is the same as what I would have written. Yesterday I “wrote” 18k lines of code with Claude & Cursor. Mostly UI,

If you are asking this question, probably the best answer for you is old fashioned sales/marketing. Relatively high paying jobs usually fulfilled via network, which happens the way you described ("land in my lap"). You need t

At this point my only hope is that they bake TS into the JS engines so that we could use type information at runtime. It's too entrenched to replace otherwise unless we jump into a new UI paradigm.

The downsides from the subtree website [0] doesn’t apply to sub repo. For me, I just use git normally as I would, and do a subrepo push when it’s time. Subtree would make me change my workflow which is a big one for me. [0] https:/&#x

Checkout git subrepo [0] if you also find working with submodules cumbersome. It has a different set of trade offs and works without any problems or changes to your workflow if they fit. (Only thing it has problems is rebasing, under specif

There aren’t any information in this study about if there were any touch typists. This would be an interesting variable to test for.

It's the slowness/sluggishness, not the looks. Most of the time even a simple interaction like clicking a checkbox takes ~1-2 seconds, which probably comes from tracking the state on server. (I don't mind outdated for .NET st

Beware, once you get used to using LINQ and usually work in a domain that it shines, you won't want to go back to using anything else.

For server-rendered UI, look for resources that uses Razor, ignore Blazor stuff at the beginning. For .NET Backend/JS Frontend, look for resources that uses minimal APIs. MVC is also good but has a lot of backwards compatibility baggag

Do you know of any performant, quality examples of Blazor out in the wild? All the examples I've seen have unacceptable UX by modern standards.
