Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But, does WebAuthn really improve authentication? With WebAuthn, instead of a secret password, you store a secret key. Why not just use really long passwords behind password managers? You're using

If I were to guess, people enter the elevator and subconsciously just press which floor they want to go to. If you allow deselecting, someone will inadvertently deselect where they want to go to if that button is already selected.
