It looks really cool, but all the numbers jiggle around when I pan the map on my phone (Android, Chrome)

It's true that it's a problem, but it can be easily fixed in the future. For example they could just change the app to work on any old android fork. You still get the benefit of no longer having transaction data run through the US

Yeah I agree. I actually see most of the stuff in the teens mode as a feature

Great file manager, I don't usually need anything outside the built in, but this is a great app. Looking forward to checking out the source.

The headline I see on HN is "TikTok's 'Addictive Design' Found to Be llegal in Europe"

Yeah, I think that's the new thing these days. Companies have always been trying to make things addictive, but now they can target each and every individual. I wonder if we had strong privacy laws, if it were illegal for TikTok to have

The real question for me is "do I use this one? Or the other one?" Because for some reason there's 2 with basically the same name just reversed.

I had that it was a cool concept but it kinda sucked. It would have been great for doing stuff over SSH but not much else as the hardware was lacking at the time

Man QML is awesome, it's all native UI, and since it's not a browser it has a much simper runtime available for the js that you write.

For me the worst part is that I (and they) don't fully know what the person asking me from the estimate wants me to build, and usually the fastest way is to just build the thing.

I think that's where technical issues come in. For a web based SaaS app it's not worth the devs time to make multiple versions available. Even for local apps, I would say most of them have some functionality tied to an API and now

The reason I've heard for games which I assume is similar here, is that there's licensed code used which the developer can not release because they don't own it (someone else does)

A lot of people mentioned not being able to find this when you want it later. I wonder if a list of tags in a Firefox bookmark would make it show up when typing in search to use instead of just googling for it

Yeah I agree, it did fail, but it's not worse because the people running it were trying to ring money out of it's users. Maybe they did take their eye off the ball trying to make it something else though

Yeah I get this a lot, it's really annoying. You can go into settings on Google search and change it to the specific language and culture you want. However it does reset on it's own from time to time.

You don't. The way it works is that it intercepts the call site when the input args are constant. If they're not then it won't be replaced and it will call the original method. C# source generators can't replace method d

But like, it's just openAPI with an endpoint for getting the schema, like how is that more universal than openAPI?

I think it's not a website you make to get hired to make business websites like this to display information (unless maybe it's a gaming company), but if you want someone to make a game on the web then this is a perfect portfolio s

Not sure what lambda helpers are. But you can write Google AppScript which is just JS and do some pretty cool stuff, including define custom functions and fully integrate with Google APIs. I've used to to send emails, or create calenda

I've had the same. Ask them to come up with a ToS and they're like "we'll talk about that in an upcoming meeting" it's been a few years now with nothing.
