I think it depends on the type of project. I found the out of box experience to be super easy with Arduino. You install the IDE, plugin the board via USB and can start writing code right away. As a full stack web developer, I am always fin

I've traveled from the Midwest to Utah on Interstate 80. It was interesting to see all the different kinds of gas stations and truck stops. I stopped at many of them to fuel up and eat. Iowa 80 boasts claims to be the world's la

I think the WYSIWYG WPF and Silverlight tools were pretty close to VB6 level of usability. The tools are great for building a quick UI, but I think they fall short for more complex applications. This is why designers have their own prefere

True, however I think the point is to put more shade tolerant crops under the panels. A lot of the crops we grow are not grown directly for human consumption. Consider the corn grown for the production of ethanol: why not just harvest the

Well, maybe. Years ago, I did work for a talent (models, actors, etc) placement agency. The models would engage in work like photoshoots for brochures, web sites, stock photos, catalogs or appearances at on-site events like tradeshows. I

For $50, I wasn't expecting tailor made bespoke hat or anything like that. I was expecting them to take some modicum of care shipping and packing it though. Kangol hats are made in China and sell at similar price point. They're

It's weird that these days, caring about your customers is considered a superpower. It just shows the awful level of service and support that passes as "customer care" these days. I recently bought a hat from Boston Scally Co

I started a business outside of pure software and ran it from 2012-2023. It's probably still considered tech because we were making and selling electronic devices that had microcontrollers and still had software. I also have a YouTube

This ties right into what my advice was going to be: start a consulting practice to help organizations make their software accessible by performing audits and providing recommendations. Come up with a menu of services w/pricing and pos

I am all for reparability, but personally I don't want to go back to some of the ways things were done 30-40 years ago and bikes are still great for the environment compared to the alternatives. My old car which I purchased used and h

I don't see it as hijacking because it doesn't seem to interfere with the operation of the page or modify the content. In my view, it's the equivalent of displaying a toast notification or alert with the same information. Ob

I wanted to download a painting app, but I was too cheap to pay the $19.99 demanded by American Airlines for the in-flight WiFi. As fortune would have it, Android comes equipped with a photo editing tool designed for quickly marking up a p

Meanwhile, I've recently seen a few popups/banners from Google asking me to switch to Chrome. I think it's a bit disingenuous to conflate this with hijacking. Also, I do not see the banner when I view the page in Edge. Disp

Having worked a 3-day week for a couple of years, I will second the notion that it possible to lose continuity by being off for four days in a row. Part of that might be that everyone else is still on the 5-day schedule, the other part of

I am developing a media-heavy web app, and I was surprised at volume of features that work in every other browser but not Safari. Or features that behave just differently enough in Safari to require code re-writes. In this regard, targeting

In pre-covid 2020, some grocery stores around here would have eggs for $0.80 a dozen from time to time. Typical prices were $1.00 - $1.20. Now it's not uncommon for them to be $5.00 a dozen. At the stores here they are be about 2x w
