This is actually a hosted version of this GH: https://github.com/heathermiller/dist-prog-book They highlight that the hosted site is far from polished but you can always host it yourself ;)

Im firmly against these "X minutes to read" estimates because the amount of time it takes to read something is highly dependent on many variables (on both the reader side and article side). I would much rather have a "Short,

From what you posted: "It will increase prototyping speed and lower the barrier for building software" How does that claim that AI will be plugging the last mile problem? That extremely vague statement says only that it will incre

Just curious... At what scale have you run Cassandra? We're running a cluster containing around 50 TB of data and we see massive issues around compaction and repair. While I agree Cassandra is impressive, it definitely comes with a lot

I would love to see hard statistical evidence that less guns = less deaths. The problem with your hypothesis (because without proof, that's all that your comment is) is that less guns in the hands of innocent people is a recipe for dis

This seems miserable to maintain. I feel like maintaining a code base with code in it that is simply there to be grepped in the wild would make it incredibly messy.

This issue is two-fold right. You can install plugins that force SSL client side (on the main site and any AJAX calls thereafter) but like you said you have no idea what calls that site is making server side. They could be sending everythin

I think you missed the initial sentence stating "This code is bleeding edge, so you need to install manually". Any POC project is going to start out with a highly manual install process.

I do see what youre saying but that 1.3 million downloads is not unique. That number is mainly comprised of automated builds pulling in the package (either directly or transitively), not new devs trying it out.

Yea I understand the "If you're in prison" side of this but I feel like asserting "Ban != Access" makes the general public (i.e not in prison) side of this MUCH fuzzier.

I'm confused by your statement. If "Ban != Access" then what's preventing courts from simply denying access (not a "Ban" under your assertion above) to people outside of prisons as well?

Was thinking the same thing. Cloud doesn't remove need for local processing power. It's simply shifting into a sandboxed environment (the browser). Ironically this could make many apps much less efficient than their native counter

Not really sure why this would be helpful only with Scala in this case. Scala is not transpiled, it's compiled directly to bytecode just like Java so if it was helpful with Scala it should be helpful with Java as well.
