I never understand the decision behind blogs not putting a link anywhere on their blog to their actual website. 1. Mixlr in the header points me to blog.mixlr.com. 2. Footer links, all of them link to the page I'm on... I know there is

But what are your actual benefits to your semantic layout besides "not feeling bad"? It seems that using the @extends creates just as many issues as it solves.

I see the point, but isn't this only moving the "debt" to another area? Instead of your markup being littered with Bootstrap classes, now your Less files are.

Didn't you just contradict yourself? "True remote work in..." When I think of "true remote work" I think of a job where location does not matter.

I'm curious how you define "bogus" referrals. New accounts with no activity? A non-activated account? Accounts created from temporary email providers (ie: Mailinaotr)?

Couldn't developers use the browser's local database for auto-saving? Or save drafts back to the server every so often via Ajax calls?

"We know that effectively nobody browses the web on their Android tablets full of stretched-out phone apps." Really? I use my Android tablet all the time and love it. So much so, I'm switching from an iPhone to and Android ph

I've wondered this for years as well. I would much rather see improvements in other areas then constant boasts about "thinnest" XYZ product.

Would you have the same suggestion for seasoned web developers in other languages, but who are still new to Python? I'm curious as I'm really looking to learn Python and was looking at Django for the web side of things.

I have been thinking about using Digital Ocean (moving from Linode) but I have heard a few stories like this that really make me second guess that decision.

I agree with you. Working with Symfony2 has dramatically changed how I work with PHP for the better. I know one of the major complaints people have with PHP is that developers often write poor code but it really doesn't have to be that

I can't be the only person to think that iOS 7 does not look good. Right? A lot of the "after" screenshots do not look any better. I'd say some of the after screenshots look worse!

I agree with this. I didn't mean to make it sound as if HTML and CSS were perfect. There is always room for improvements. For example, with CSS you now have the option to use LessCSS or SASS.
