I always have this feeling, that console is more about tools that you can run (such as unix commands), than just some console improvements (like command history, copey-paste, etc.). I think the article focuses more on the latter. Anyway, fo

I would appreciate if they could relax a bit a list of filetypes you can upload there. if you want to use some webfonts for your CSS you will be surprised that it's impossible to upload your own TTF file (freeware of course) :(

This is about how productive you can be by using mature technology with plenty of libraries and components. How long would it take with Go or ruby with their still small ecosystems?

I would say that this kind of explanation could be used to justify every wrong statement. In the end if someone claims something it is usually true until someone proves it wrong. I think that in this case Dropbox popularity has proven Joel'

although it seems to be "yet another web framework", be careful when you try to reject it only because of that. Web frameworks happen because people try to leverage their existing knowledge, skills or codebase in a web domain. i.e. GWT &

It's sarcasm in its clearest form. I'm not into details of IBM patent, but it seems to me that the general idea doesn't feel that much innovative, given that we already have numerous projects achieving similar goal.

At some point of time there was an open source delphi IDE, and it was developed in Delphi, but I think the official one wasn't (at least at the beginning).

My thoughts exactly. I remember Delphi as beeing de facto choice for rapid software development. I'm regretfull about the fall and demise of the overall platform. Even now many tools are not yet so good as deplhi was around 1997. I remember

I would like to see why actually Heroku fell back to random routing. It doesn't really make sense. Of course this all routing stuff is really tricky, but on the other hand there is a lot of work done (look at TCP agorithms). When I was stu
