You're mostly correct but I should point out one thing that credit cards do that debit cards don't really do in America: fraud protection. Credit card companies spend a lot of money protecting their customers from card number thef

If you think this is cool check out Orca, which I'd describe as a visual musical programming language: https://100r.co/site/orca.html Spent a week playing with it last summer and it was a blast.

> SEO hacking content farms dominating search results It seems like LLMs are destroying traditional search engines (Google) much faster than they are enabling new ones (Bing + GPT). Are we going to enter a dark age of search where the si

A Herman Miller chair (the Mirra). Cost me $400 from an office supply liquidator, or you could spend about $1000 brand new. It’s the only way I can be truly comfortable at a desk for 7-10 hours a day.

I am not going to defend Zoom's RTO plan because I do truly believe that most people who work on computers can work remotely (I do, and I enjoy it). However ... this feels correct. This is basically the same as saying that Zoom is a me

The technology is pretty amazing, but does anyone else feel like we (the public) got duped? What I wanted was for my own car to drive itself so I could relax and make better use of car time. I also wanted some new novel ways of interacting

Not the point if your post but it's amazing how influential the Fireship team is! A true developer influencer, without being a cult of personality.

The share to the driver is so small I can’t believe they get away with it (Lyft too). In SF I often see drivers accepting their next fare while I’m in the backseat. A ride that will cost me $15 might get them $6. I know Uber’s part here is

Yes! I have this one on my desk and use it very often: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07L68RQCX/ref=pe_27063361_48562... It is cheap, never needs batteries, and I find it much easier to use than my computer or my ph

Seems like Uber Eats really did save the company. Not with the original plan (leveraging idle capacity in the existing driver network) but instead by just discovering that urban customers are willing to be insane premiums (50%ish) to get fo

If you live in the US and like to donate to charity you can have your own private foundation and you don’t have to be a jerk about it! It can be a convenient way for you to do good in the world. It’s called a Donor Advised Fund and you can

Would be cool if bounties could have an expiration date. I’ll pay $100 if issue X is fixed by date Y. Probably more reflective of business value too, since if an issue isn’t fixed relatively quickly I’ll have to build my own workaround.
