Can you reveal the algorithm you are asking them to implement? Your anecdote is interesting in the context of the recent stories about a lot of programmers not being able to solve the fizz-buzz problem.

No, I tested in three browsers[1] prior to writing my comment, just to avoid getting caught in something like what you suggest. :) The behaviour seems consistent across all three, independent of whether I'm logged into my Google account or

Probably not. In a recent thread[1], the consensus seemed to be that introducing monetary rewards for community participation was a bad idea, that would largely cause people to game the system. I should think that your idea would encounter

It could probably be argued that needing this plugin is actually a symptom that you need to rethink some part of your UI. If an element is important enough to be pointed out like this, it should perhaps feature more prominently in the layou

Does anyone have more information on this bit? "It resembles a model developed by Miguel de Icaza's Mono Project, in which the information the compiler generates about a program can be reused as a library." Sounds very interesting, but th

Be careful with introducing monetary rewards. Rewards can sometimes have weird psychological effects on people, and may actually lessen their willingness to contribute because the task comes to be seen more as "work" than pastime [1] . Smal
