Hi, I'm not the OP or connected but do work at Mojeek. We respect your privacy like DuckDuckGo but have our own search index and crawl the web like Google.

I run BitDefender on my mac from time to time and it has found and removed files from time-to-time.

Firstly, congratulations! You sound very level-headed about it all which is refreshing. If you're UK-based I'd withdraw it all and hide it in a safe... FCS only protects up to about £70k (from memory) and who knows what state the

I'm quite pleased to hear that they're being removed as they do my head in. If I owned videos that relied on the annotations and I wasn't in a position to re-record them then I'd probably screen record the videos with th

So basically, you can be overweight with great brain function or ripped and risk losing your marbles. You sort of can't win either way really can you!

Am I the only one that isn't even 1% surprised by this? Nearly every person I know that is over 40 years of age does next to no exercise, and eats and drinks too much.

I don't get the same behaviour as what is shown in the screenshots of the google blog. If I go to Google, disable JS and click on 'sign in' I go to an 'account chooser' page. From there, no matter what I do I end up

Wouldn’t you just use your work account for this then and keep it separate from your personal digital footprint? I would, or I’d change jobs.

I use Firefox in excess of 10 hours every day and don’t have any problems so I find this statement very surprising. I’m not sure about Chrome being the de facto standard either and even if it is, it doesn’t mean you have to follow it.

I don’t understand why people are complaining about this. If you’re concerned about privacy then why would you even use a Google product in the first place? There are other options.

Thanks for the info. Marc (who created Mojeek) mentions Blekko a lot as he considers yourselves to be the last ones so far to have a proper go at creating a search engine from scratch. Also, we're now up to 2.2 billion pages and it

This is incorrect, not everything on the internet that calls itself a search engine get their results from one of those four. There's also Exalead, Gigablast, Mojeek and Findx for example. Disclaimer: I work for Mojeek so know that i

I've paid for my internet connection and content that they willingly put on their server without any security protection has been downloaded to my computer. Now that I have that content I'll read it if I want to.

Your browser has downloaded it anyway, so you may as well read it. If they cared that much then they'd hide it better.
