Sometimes preference doesn't match project choice?

After writing a decent backup shell script in fish, I converted it to bash as IntelliJ didn't have support for fish and also non strict Posix compatibility wasn't too comfortable and then realized it's quite a pain to write l

It's kind of funny because now you're trusting some third party not to inject unwanted code when you just blindly download binary on every release anyway. Seems to just bring another problem by trying to solve one.

What do you use as your VM software? I take it VMWare has a pretty decent IO performance to host's files through HGFS when VirtualBox isn't as performing.

I get it that WSL is easy for anyone to use but why not just run a real Linux in VMware or VirtualBox and you'll have 100% compatible Linux environment. Prebuilt OS image is just a single download and deploy.

It's really sad that those smart people can name a programming language as 'Go' and I get confused whether you've started talking about it or was just a verb...

I agree but strong typing surely helps with a decent editor linting. Recently, I had a moment to code in MQL4 language and boy, I needed a break for just fighting against the language. Not even associative arrays and no proper NULL with mag

I agree. Everything should be synchronous unless stated otherwise. The amount of 'await' and 'async' appearing is almost on every few lines but that is Node.js' problem, not TS'.

People don't seem to point out but you need a decent editor to benefit from using TS. If your editor doesn't support live checking, then it probably feels like boring additional work by going back and forth between code and compil

Don't like pedantic attitude just because some recent paradigm matches that of a while ago. Back then, you don't know dynamic types won't be too welcomed.

I'm using TS for front/back end but you do need runtime checking as well at a few places, even though the compiler tells you it's redundant. Relying strictly on typing is dangerous as you might've given wrong type from d

Do you really have that many occasions to work in an environment where you can't ask for/install a package? Limiting yourself for such rare occasions just sounds wrong.
