Yeah, I think to me the line between “competing by making our product better” and “competing in a hostile way” was crossed with WSL, because Microsoft is literally taking other people’s work and slapping it into Windows. I mean at this poin

But the RAM on ‘em was very low and as far as I know the cores only run C++ code, which I realize is what a lot of software is written in, including probably QEMU… can that last iteration actually run a hypervisor? I would have loved to be

The article mentions a 2020 paper from IEEE that suggests the radiation exposure from playing with the kit would amount to around 1 day’s worth of UV exposure, so it appears the kit was pretty safe. Of course if a child were to break open a

I think I’m conditioned to have reduced respect for managers because in my experience they are former devs who were “promoted” out of touching the code. As a result, when they offer technical advice, it’s bad technical advice, or at best me

No worries, I just have to imagine the downvotes are coming from people who aren't familiar with orthopedics, otherwise I don't see why they'd downvote... but downvoting reduces visibility, so potentally-valuable content is s

I'm sorry that PT was not fruitful. Frozen Shoulder is rough. From what I hear, the surgery route is a lot more successful, but it seems like the main roadblock is convincing a surgeon to perform the surgery. They want you to exhaust a

Carpal Tunnel Release is the most-common hand surgery in the United States, and it's estimated to have a success rate of around 90%. I have always thought the remaining 10% or so were misdiagnoses. I was misdiagnosed with CTS myself. I

Eh, read up on Cubital Tunnel Syndrome... it's illogical to expect "ergonomics" to resolve a muscular impingement of the ulnar nerve. "RSI" isn't a thing. It refers to an umbrella of conditions and therefore do

My experience has been that orthopedic surgeons are BAD at diagnosis. This is at least partially because they are always in such a hurry (in the US anyway). You were smart to persist and I'm glad you found a solution. Your solution is

I do agree that Microsoft won't be able to extinguish Linux, especially through something like WSL, but they are attempting to retain market share for Windows desktop usage with it, and that's actually anti-Linux. The only reason

Microsoft created it to incentivize devs to stay on Windows for their dev machines instead of switching to macOS or Linux. It has no other purpose than that. As a result, that many more people are staying on Windows and Linux popularity

It’s not a conspiracy theory. It’s well-known that Microsoft’s “M$ <3 Linux” campaign is propaganda. It’s classic anti-competitive Microsoft behavior that started with IE in the 90s.

It used to be very common across all OEMs, at least in the consumer space. I remember having to flash a modded BIOS on my 2012 HP laptop so it would boot with a WiFi + BT card. Back in those days it was uncommon for a laptop to have BT.
