Forza is a game, the background being distracting or not isn't a real problem. On Windows 11 however there is some transparency effect here and there and it's indeed very annoying when a window change color because of what is behi

I very agree with this view. Print debugging is still useful in some cases, for example in game programming where the state of a lot of objects change rapidly and debugging a single update isn't enough to reproduce the situation.

With modern js stacks being somewhat compiled anyway, and the backend often being C# or Java I don't think that case is very applicable. Not to mention developers logging on production servers and making whatever changes they want bein

The minimum legal for a standard contract is 5 weeks per year in France. It can skyrock to 10 in some position like rail worker, or university staff.

It's indeed not news that a text generator is generating text. The saddest parts of the story is student cheating on an exam.

I agee with this view. Generative AI robs us of something (thinking, practicing) which is the long term ability to practice a skill and improve oneself in exchange of an immediate (often crappy) result. Embeddings is a tech that can help us

The only ML improvements I noticed and use in my Apple products in year is Chinese text OCR in images, and Chinese handwritten recognition on ipad with pencil. Nothing in Apple Intelligence is making me bat an eye.

In a way the school system teach people to fear not knowing something, because at an exam it mean getting a bad grade. At work, it is also often frown upon. This is indeed a problem in science since the goal is precisely to find more about

You don't need to look as far as Vietnamese Wikipedia to see ideology creeping in. I noticed weirdly forced extreme-left concepts in a lot of French and English pages, to the point it lowered my trust in the whole website.

For me it's me PhD thesis. It's a drug, and there's always something to do either on the code or writing or reading. I'm even a bit disappointed by Space Age.
