Mine is entirely sync'ed to my mac. I just literally run iCloud off and I have everything local.

Spicy food does it for me. I found that it wasn't meat I was after but flavour. Turns out you don't need meat for flavour. Also when I'm craving meat it tends to go away if I take iron supplements or remember to actually eat

That was a top one. I rather liked "cash". They think Vyvyan is pregnant so they make Neil join the police to make some money. Ending: https://youtu.be/mhxkY9adDCg?t=146

When I was at university we put snails in someone's room for a joke when we were all drunk and he was unconscious. Woke up to snail trails all over his room. Wasn't Leeds though :)

Oh no he has. His grandparents were tortured to death by nazis. He’s been to Auschwitz. There are two types: the ignorant and the complicit. The complicit are who you have to worry about. It was seen as a means to an end and was without com

I have little software investment (mostly pixelmator) but I am using Apple Music subscription. I've paid for it for over 3 years so I think I've paid enough anyway...

I've got a nice mouse already (Logitech MX Master 3). I don't use a touchpad if I can help it.

Thanks. Pop_OS! is a candidate for testing here already if Ubuntu doesn't work out. I picked Ubuntu as a first point because I grabbed a Lenovo Neo 50s desktop and that supports it out of the box. That will set expectation for hardware

Oh I'm screwed. I'm fully in on Apple Photos, Music, Calendars, Notes, the lot. I will pull things out carefully one service at a time over the space of a few months or I'll get pissed off and give up. One thing I am looking

Yeah this one has pissed me off generally. I'm slowly working out how the hell I get out of the ecosystem but I realise I'm heavily locked in and it's difficult so I'm going to have to do it very slowly and methodically.

Completely agree with this. What is really terrible is the waste in the system. We have supply chains set up where a big chunk of what we produce gets thrown away just so people can have a large choice of "products". The objective

I understand that there are different opinions and priorities but consider that a lot of people to be entirely lacking in any virtue and compassion restricted only by the power that they do not (currently) possess. To empower those folk is

It's a good question. I find that outward judgement for something I feel strongly about is likely detrimental to the cause. Every militant opinion is energy wasted. I prefer to cook stuff people like and create bridges, not resentment

I lived near a pig farm in the UK for a couple of years in the 1990s. Seen some shit that turned me into a vegetarian ever since. Animal welfare is a fucking joke. It is literally only rolled out for the inspectors. The folk who work on

Having worked in tech for 25 years it doesn’t surprise me. Some people I’ve worked with are barely human. A colleague a few years ago went as far as to suggest that this is how you ended up with nazis. I hope with ubiquitous communications

That's about all you can do really. The thing I found is make yourself invaluable. That means throwing what interests you technology wise under a bus and learn stuff that isn't glamorous. Pick a niche with a perpetual vacuum yet h

Company I was working for in the 1990s bought a PowerStack II machine to test on. This was the same but in a regular PC looking case. Of course being difficult the guy assigned this tried to put NT on it. After a week he couldn't work

Github is indeed not a monopoly as far as a fitted out office building is not a monopoly. It does have an extremely high exit cost. And it's not reasonable for the owner of an office building to refuse access for your staff for saying
