As long as you know your own ignore behaviour, I don't see how it can cause confusion... except maybe if you share the drive the repo is stored (either as a network drive or you share the physical drive via sneakernet) but why would yo

Fun! It might be an idea to include an option for some form of over/underexposure or bleed.

The README says "Hint: Make sure String.ana is located in the directory of logger.ana. It's located in the lib directory." but I can't find a lib directory or String.ana anywhere in the repository?

Not necessarily. As I understand it, 4 (NOTA) is special, because in a vote to change the constitution of Debian, you need 3 times more votes for a change than NOTA votes. Thus 3 > 2 > 4 would mean "I prefer 3, but if the majorit

In the Netherlands at least, we use "familie" to refer to the extended family. To talk about the immediate family or one's household, we would use "gezin" (Although I think some parts of the Netherlands may use &quo

As far as I can tell, the only content inside of a ruby tag should be annotated text or its annotation, the 1 that should not be annotated should not be inside the <ruby> tag. I get a good result with this: <ruby>c<rt&g

It was too subtle for me too. It didn't help that I've seen new languages on here that were completely serious and much more absurd than this.

Your Python example is far from idiomatic, though. If a Python programmer were forced to write `Stuff`, they'd write something like: class Stuff: def __init__(self): self.a_list = [1,2,3,4] def __iter_

That wouldn't solve it: max(0.0, -0.0) would be false ? 0.0 : -0.0 The problem is that 0.0 == -0.0. As long as you don't take care of signed zero, you cannot guarantee that abs(x) has no negative sign.

The easiest way to get a signed zero is with a unary minus operation. That is, the expression -x produces -0.0 when x is an unsigned zero (so 0.0)

Very cool. One note: the browser (at least Firefox and Chrome) becomes unresponsive for a while if the code takes too long to run. For example: for (i = 0; i < 1000000; i++) { i; }

Faces for avatars are almost always better than other options. We humans are really good at recognising faces, even cartoony or abstract ones, which helps users remember other users by their avatars. Some people are visually impaired or fac

Is the Safari UI in Dutch for you? (I never set UI language to Dutch if I can avoid it even though it's my native language, the localization is often so clunky that I find it distracting)

No, I meant more like... I don't know if it's possible to verify if a run submitted for non-TAS leaderboard isn't secretly a TAS run and if not, the era of any integrity of non-TAS leaderboards would be over. So all non-TAS s

You mean the list "Nation states where a single ethnic group makes up more than 85% of the population"? Most of the world is currently organised in nation states, but most of those are multi-ethnic. Ethnicity != nationality in thi

It's not great if you're working on a new release and you realize you also need to change something unrelated because the language changed under you, especially if it's just a bugfix but a high-priority one, or consider the h

I need to correct myself: on my 64 bit system, given M = ((1 << (30 * N)) - 1, M is the largest integer such that sys.getsizeof(M) = 24 + 4 * N. Assuming I made no further mistakes, sys.getsizeof(I) <= sys.maxsize for any I, which

One important detail: "digit" when talking about sdigit & ob_digit are not base-10 digits, but base 10000 for 32-bit CPython and base 1000000000 for 64-bit CPython! That means PY_SIZE(-15) is -1, not -2! And the maximum repres

If I understand correctly, f(n) << g(n) is equivalent to f(n) = o(g(n)), not f(n) = O(g(n)).

Unless I'm mistaken, |g(x)|<M|f(x)| does not hold for those, since sin(e^x) has an infinite number of zeroes.

Operating on a fixed size datatype is trivially O(1), too (because O(c) = O(1) when c is a constant).

I've seen this a lot, where people are convinced big Oh is specifically meant for worst cases performance. And there may be some logic behind it, because if some function is in Θ(n^3) in the worst case, then it is true that it is in O(

To me, ligatures in programming always file like a kind of syntax highlighting if that worked on the character level rather than the token level. Suppose given `difficulty = 3` your editor would highlight the `if`. That's how these lig
