Those were excellent. Such was their popularity that their (badgers, Weebl) creator was invited for a presentation at the Holywell Music Rooms in Oxford; I can't remember exactly when but it must have been 20 years ago. This was fairl

I recall the Covered Market becoming a bus station in one Endeavour episode.

The Morse/Lewis/Endeavour programmes often show that sort of thing, with the characters walking through various scenic areas of central Oxford which aren't directly connected.

No problem. There does seem to be quite a bit of good stuff these days, though it's not easy to get much engagement (I'm probably too dull).

That's a good blog. Sadly, Mark Wadsworth (the author) appears to have died within the last year. Edit: Link: http://www.yppuk.org/2023/03/mark-wadsworth-obituary.html

All good stuff, indeed. > Handle bad results in the same way that the NTSB deals with plane crashes - find the flaws in the system instead of somebody to blame. Definitely. I'd like to see a lot more of that, but the default often s

Your comment reminds me of a time I was a member of a sports club. One other member was thrown out as they were revealed in a newspaper article to also be an active member of a neo-Nazi organisation. But, they'd never said or done anyt

Similarly, not de-banked, but I did recently have a payment blocked, with no explanation from my bank other than that the recipient seemed suspicious. It was a payment made in person to a garage that had just serviced my car, to which I

Perhaps not the "stun gun". It would be interesting to know if a properly-qualified engineer has ever taken a look at the Eagle and determined if it would be possible (e.g. with nuclear thermal rockets).

This one is particularly bad for lane changing: https://www.google.com/maps/@51.7874467,-1.278506,17.57z?ent... Coming out of Oxford on the A4144 there are two lanes; the left lane is for taking the first two turns and

Both my wife and I had these and, despite initial promise, they behaved horribly. One particular issue was overheating and shutting down. IIRC the boot loop issue, when it eventually struck, was worked around by a hack to disable two CPU co

My org insists that the disks of all obsolete machines are destroyed and the rest of the hardware sent for disposal. I have a few systems that could be wiped and given away for charity but that’s not allowed. This seems incredibly wastef
