Unfortunately most of the CPUC worked at PGE, the people that understand energy regulation are usually energy folks. And so the CPUC is typically quite understanding of PG&E’s pleas, they approved every single rate hike they’ve proposed

Is anyone running truenas scale for this kind of purpose. I haven’t used it but its architecture around k8s seems extremely promising. For most use cases a simple docker container is all you need but sometimes running other apps like grafan

Yes that works for most use cases but there are use cases where you may need to store or shuttle the time zone. For instance you want to know this UTC timestamp was originally created in PDT. You would have to store two variables. Most othe

Intel also worked on modems for a long time, ultimately abandoning it and selling it to Apple, who has also not been able to bear fruit with that yet. Modems are hard but Intel with their experience could’ve stuck it out and had a competiti

This looks great! I’ve done something similar with tippecanoe and mapshaper from gis files. That allowed me to use mapbox.js with my own hosted custom maps, as flat files. Very fast but still needed to run a server (tileserver-gl-light). Th

Functionally yes but the VRF (variable rate flow) which leads to more efficiency gains is a bit more added on top just an inverter valve. Otherwise the heat pumps would be cycling on and off. That’s also why ACs are typically oversized here

The chiplet design is another innovation like FinFET and even EUV that is allowing for more transistors closer together. The interconnect for instance on the blackwell means no timing issues. The transistor size is already closing in on 1nm

This looks fantastic! Does it support node extra ca cert etc? I’ve had that issue with mkcert in the past and it’s easy to fix but another thing to keep track of in these already complex dev setups if you’re doing local https.

To be fair protobufs are not purely focused on speed. And what speed exactly? Speed to parse, read, transfer? Flatbuffers are purely fast read/write by storing buffers that can be mmap’d right into memory. At the cost of some size bloa

Here for standardrb, it’s the only one i use. I would recommend it and don’t deal with rubocop or anything else anymore. I understand OPs points about ERB it seems to be a wasteland of development. I switched to liquid templates which took

Yes but it’s a lot of code to maintain data integrity between your local store, app state, and networked store. Sqlite is ideal but indexeddb for the browser could work fine too.

I want this too, there isn’t a great FOSS way to currently do this besides supabase or roll your own unfortunately. For PWA local save/write, try network update, refresh local upon success is the gold standard for data integrity. And f

Is there any benchmarks on speed/compute/accuracy anywhere comparing to tesseract v5?

This would probably be pretty easy to do with swift and python processes running side by side with grpc.

Some VPN providers provide free dns that is just as “fast” and doesn’t block archive today. If you’re using unbound/pihole. You can set archive today domains specifically to use some other dns, but everything else remains cf.

Yes I mean for users you can just prefix the url to pull the image. For publishers you just need a public repo, it can be empty. And push your image to that as a release or use github actions to build/publish it. I don’t believe there

I switched Archive domains from Cloudflare DNS to Mullvad DNS on my unbound, haven’t had issues since. I also would recommend quad9 as a dns resolver, it doesn’t have an issue.

Please publish docker images to GHCR, it’s free with much better limits and is as simple to switch to as prepending the docker container url with ghcr.io/. Please do it maintainers!

Great news! It looks like Google GRPC team is probably waiting for Safari Webtransport support to implement grpc over the web in WT. Even though Chrome has had it for 2 years they have kept saying they’ll wait until it becomes GA.

Unfortunately Safari is still a major hold out on WebTransport with no clear update, considering all other browsers have now supported it in GA for 3+ years.

Great to hear, a benchmark against trigram searching with gin index would also be great. There are multiple ways to do full text search with postgres and they’re all insanely fast and memory efficient. Benchmarking various methods for compa

I had same thought as soon as I read the article, with a gin index the benchmarks would be wildly different and not sure why they didn’t compare against that. Of course a non indexed search is going to be slow. I was looking for comparison

Thanks for the reply, a write up on pros/cons in these approaches would be fantastic. I have no clue which is better but I believe pgosc is heavily inspired by github/gh-ost, their tool for online schema change for mysql.
