I was thinking this exact thing. A distro, or flavour of some distro purely for seniors. There may already be one out there

I think the distribution needs to be picked very carefully. I'd imagine most users would get on with Ubuntu without any issues

This is certainly the case, and I think more and more people are going this way. My 70 year old mother uses her 4 year old iPad for things she might have previously done on a PC. She gets on with it without issues

I'm surprised there aren't more suggestions to ditch the windows install totally and go with a Linux distro like Ubuntu. Personally I also know of family members that get on very well with chromebooks

The code that the tweet refers to is not open source. That's the scandal here.

It's strange - the panel looks good for some content, but bad for others. When there is a solid colour on the screen, you can see banding really easily. I also was seeing a bit of subtle colour flickering when watching HDR content on N

I've got a 2017 LG TV and I hate it. It's always been buggy and some of the hardware was underspecced even for 2017. I was getting ready to replace it but this Jailbreak might buy it a few more years

Your final sentence nails the fact of our work (and by proxy, business investment) is short-lived. So many apps that I've contributed to in the business world end up getting tossed after a few years. It's often because of some cha

I totally see your point of view. However in my experience, there is not enough developer competency for this to fully work. I can imagine lots of developers going off task if things worked in this way - there would be too much freedom, and

Your comment about the JavaScript client side ecosystem is fair, and I could even provide numerous examples of libraries introducing breaking api changes in minor releases. However it is unfair and simply untrue to somehow also tar nodejs w

I suspected I'd enter the comments and see this sort of comment. I don't feel like the author is telling us how to block ads on facebook - they are just exploring the techniques that facebook use to sidestep ad-blockers

But this just isn't true. If you install wordpress, and then grab a bunch of plugins and themes and install them without taking any care, it won't bundle and minify your javascript. It's no different to having a static websit
