I hear this criticism a fair amount. I felt the polar opposite. I felt like Dune was made for me. I really enjoy that engrossing feeling of scale(both visually and aurally) that I am constantly bombarded by. I am glad that a film like that

I really hope it is true, that internal support is wavering. I have a tendency to believe our western media's over expression of news stories that make it look like the Russian forces are having a hard time. I can't place my finge

When I want to lose weight I do this one simple thing ... I stop eating as much. Fasting really isn't all that difficult once you train your brain around it. You simply can't gain weight if you are consuming less. You don't n

The most talented brewers I see, have really talented QA folks standing right behind them helping them make targets for their process and blend things that are out of spec ect. The smaller breweries will always make something different but

I think it's best to schedule breaks and to set strict rules when taking modfinil. For instance I would not recommend taking it after a certain time period after waking up.

I hear you on the beer front, there is so much bad beer especially IPA. I'm starting to stick to the stuff that has consistent quality. I've just had too much horse shit thinking I'm trying something "different".

My brain just thinks in CTEs over sub queries. I really dislike that my co-workers use these ridiculously nested sub sub sub queries. I just look at something like this and I immediately know what's going on. If it's nested sub qu

This is the type of comment I come to HN for. I try to explain to my partner there is always alternative ways to handle matters, and going with "the process" has inevitable outcomes. Probably good they work at a bank and I well..

This perfectly encapsulates my feeling. I see a lot of talk about the psychosis hypothesis but little in the way of evidence. Folks have some really rustled jimmies about being called out that evidence.
