I second that. This is one of the best ones: http://books.google.com/books?id=ikMAzFXpFOsC&printsec=f... btw if anyone wants to do a collaborative chapter by chapter self-study, just send me a private message. I have had it on my she

Agreed. I'd love to read an announcement about "High Memory" instances. It'd be great to be able to pay 15 cents per hour and get the basic instance with 3 GB of RAM, or 20 cents per hour to get 5GB of ram.

Great idea and great implementation. A few suggestions: - fast (or almost) autosaving/updating so that it can be easily used on a phone call for collaborative brainstorming w/o having to click save all the time. - add meta keywords or other

I had two junk insprions (9200 and I forget the model number of the other one). A friend just bought one of the newer high end laptops and it performs great but the build quality is sub-par and a piece fell off the front in the first week

I haven't seen the M1330, but I have been burned twice by buying Dell laptops. This is after a run of about 3 great ones. The problem started when they went to the thick unrounded two-tone cases with silver on top (at least in the Inspiro

If you look carefully, you'll see that the photos (and the design of the laptop) is intended to visually hide how THICK it is. In the past 3 years Dell has been producing junk laptops. I will not buy one again and I caution anyone who thi

Are you saying that people in the US don't get vaccinated already with or without "health insurance"? BTW, the reason that someone can't sell a $20/month insurance policy that gets you the kind of basics you're talking about is b/c it's ill

What about: - Free glasses for those who don't have 20/20 vision. - Why not give free glasses for those who don't have 20/30 vision? - What about free contact lenses? - Wait, why not make daily disposables a right? - While we're at it, what

Marty, Government is not a tool, neither is "the market". People solve problems by creating organizations to address specific needs. If something comes from the government, you get one try (like doing an experiment with one petri dish).

You're right, and that is the behavior in Ruby 1.9. I posted the example I did so that those unfamiliar with Ruby would see that the parent was a contrived example to use upto in that context. Sure it's awkward b/c it's not the intended se

The comparison was intended to highlight that by giving that presentation, Matz is not simply propagandizing Ruby, he's trying to distribute accurate information. The parent of my post seemed to be critical of Matz's approach because it wa

That is what I'd expect. 1.upto implies starting at 1... otherwise why would upto be called on 1? If you want the behavior you expect, type: x = 4 5.times do x += 1 end

Most of them have been fixed, friend. What do you want, someone to act like George W. Bush and claim that everything is going perfectly? Matz is at least willing to see the good and the bad and to openly acknowledge it. Unlike GWB's rhetor

I've tried 5 different keyboards, none of which have made much difference. Others have posted some of these but I'll share my list of what has worked: - take frequent typing breaks -- even 10 to 15 second breaks work wonders. - stay happy

i have been happy with the toshiba r205 s209 originally retailed for $2200 but i've seen them lately for around $800. Spend an extra $100 and load up the RAM to 1.25GB. It runs linux like a charm and gets great battery life. Best of all, i

You have missed the point of the article. It doesn't matter if a tax is "income tax" or "lolcats tax", economists agree that any tax creates a disincentive for productive work. The question is, how much do tax rates impact productivity. T
