I've never worked in Montreal, I'm from Northern Quebec, but I got to do university in Ontario and worked ever since in Ottawa. I got a job offer for a job in Toronto, and I really like the people and how being French-Canadian did

"Quebec's largest mistake was, of course, Bill 101" ... I thought it was the almost won referendum that drove this exile, not Bill 101. My impression is that if you lowered the income tax in Quebec (much higher then Ontario),

The scary part in my opinion is: "Housing is the only thing keeping the Canadian economy afloat." This more an anecdote than an argument, but I know quite a few people who can barely pay their mortgage or have crazy margin debt (w

Great plan if you have no extended or close family (our you simply don't care about them), nor do you care about living in the country you were born in.

I was gonna say Trello, since I work with a small team, or a simple white board with tool tip and manage bugs in gitlab. I can see why Jira Agile is used with bigger team. My team is pretty big, but the projects I am on are usually 2-3 deve

Agree, it could be worst. We have Jira bug tracking, Confluence and Jira Agile. Confluence is great, no more sharepoint, we just put all our documentation there. Jira Agile is simply awful, the UI/UX is non-intuive and super hard to un

This is cool. What type of scenarios could you not afford a few seconds of downtime on a server? For example, why not simply remove a machine from the cluster/nlb and upgrade it, then add it back ...?

I've been using VSC for a few months now for side projects and I really like it. I've ditched notpad++ for it without any regrets. I'm not a fan of using my full blown VS2015 either for nodejs/web projects. Glad to see s

By fad, I meant that the frameworks change in the world of IoC, while DI is pretty much a concept easily applicable in OO languages. I myself and my team use AutoFac right now, but who knows what it could be in 1-2 years...

DI usually means Dependency Injection, and I don't see how I could do unit testing/mocking without DI (especially constructor based DI). IoC containers such as AutoFac, those are from my perspective more of a fad.
