Amazing and I am also a fan of suckless.org. I am using dwm, dmenu, sic and st now. The binary size of st, rxvt and xterm are 184k, 2.7M and 640k (on x86_64 arch, not accurate). What's wrong with rxvt's binary size? st's binary size is not

I used to using visual studio and thought it was good. But after using emacs, I donot think it is good any more. and the libraries/APIs seems not well designed too now.

Isn't windows RT is for ARM cpu? MSFT just does not bother to port desktop mode to ARM chips. Two possible reasons for not porting desktop mode are: 1.x86 and arm architecture are different and it is not easy to port. 2.No existing desktop

The article is misleading and the author has totally no clue on the complexity of user space memory management. Random on-disk virtual memory access will be a disaster if we just keep everything in so-called virtual memory without complicat

I can not agree more with you. The author just has no clue on memory management. He is imaging that the virtual memory model can solve all cache pains. The reality is much painful.

Let me explain more on the details of moving a cursor: In a terminal, usually mono-width fonts with fixed font size are used, so cursor positions can be computedly easily. But for a word processor, variable-width fonts with variable font si

I wish all that this guy said is true. I desperately wish a perfect virtual memory can relieve me from all the pains of caching. Take an example, in a word processor, can we just keep all possible cursor positions (for moving the cursor aro

I agree that C++ is complicated, and the future direction is not c++. but isn't c# supposed to be dead soon? and even MSFT is well prepared to discard it anytime. C is much simpler than C++. whereever c++ is needed, c is a much better optio

As many people here said, this guy may not know what he doesn't know. But I am admiring his braveness and it is good thing for someone to shoulder off all legacy burdens and start a fresh OS. As a developer, I have similar feeling on softwa

Your editor seems pretty advanced and very responsive, it is much better than previous existing ones. (I know, there was a javascript one several years ago)

Great work. As a graphics programmer on web, I understand it is very time consuming and hard to squeeze out performance from a browser. My own htm5/nacl vector graphics editor http://www.torapp.info is similar but specially enhanced for s

I do not want to say that UML is totally useless, but honestly, I did not even meet one single programmer who were using it. UML may be useful for things other than CS.

After some experience with html5 and javascript programming, I feel it is more and more like hacks, forcing natural application models into html5 with lots of hacks. Sure, there are applications fitting html5 well, but for many more others,
