Google Messenger? (Although Google accounts try really hard to get your phone number, I don't know that it's ever required). Anything XMPP based.. you could just use any old XMPP server and client.

I use IE11 almost exclusively these days when I'm on Windows, and this part of why. But ironically, this article doesn't even work on it. (and zooming doesn't fix the issue) http://i.imgur.com/jlNT8vt.png

Do you think touchscreen support is up to par? I'm running a Windows tablet with similar specs (Acer Iconia W700P -- no pen support though) and I have really wanted to put Linux on it, but haven't tried. I've just been using

I guess that's true, although in theory it would be quite easy to install a lighter WM and/or DE. I don't know why they picked Ubuntu default and Unity.

I regularly use a netbook with 1GB of RAM (Dell Mini 9). It's on #! (I know, I might need to look for an alternative), which uses Openbox, but I have no problems with web surfing as long as I max at about 5 tabs. I also don't use

Interesting. I use it as a daily driver on a lower powered phone (Moto G first gen) and in fact, it's about the only browser that works well on my older Android tablet (Dell Streak 7 on HC).

I have heard complaints that it was not a major enough upgrade from 2010, but I certainly appreciate it. The new interface is great, and there are a handful of features that have really made a difference for me. Having decent ODF support, h

I use it mostly when on data. Even though I have a very high data limit, I find without 4G that it performs much better.

Do you mean not useful in that people will not be able to open it or won't know the title? Current versions of Windows (in Wordpad in 7+) and Office (especially in 2013, but with limited support in earlier versions) can open ODF.

I guess it depends on how you define the line of code, but I would be surprised if no former president has ever done anything code-like, especially considering how this was more necessary in many early computers, and considering how we prac

Does IE11 even support ActiveX? I didn't think that it did. I tend to use IE11 because it is lighter on memory usage than Firefox or IE and my machine has only 4GB of RAM. Also, it has a lot of those features. By default, I have right

Very true. I took all the AP classes I could in high school (incuding some independent study) and was able to get a year knocked off of college easily. I probably could have gone to school in less, but a) my college capped my AP credits to

The comment you're replying to did specify eggs as being more important in poor diets than other animal meat, which would square with my mother-in-law's experience growing up in the Philippines.

It used to be quite simple with IEs4Linux[1], but it only supports IE 5, 5.5, 6 and sort of 7. Not as useful nowadays. [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEs4Linux
