It's a bit obscure but 127.x.x.x is a /8. So you have quite a few loopback IPs/port combos. I've tested it and it works with Windows, Linux, GHS integrity.

This is the killer use-case outside of the web. Embedding untrusted/semi-trusted code into a bigger application or runtime and exposing a specific API to it.

Python had significant traction back in the late '90s (~1.4/1.5). It was perl vs python vs TCL (possibly vs Guile) back then. Cross platform and the ease of integrating to other codebases (both extension and embedding) are two p

I had a similar story with a friend in college in the 2000's. He would always hit Ctrl-z'd to "close" emacs when logged into the server which would've been fine if he wasn't using screen or tmux as well. At s

The US trains for this but I'm not sure it's needed domestically. FAA funds local and regional airports - there are plenty of airstrips all over that could accommodate a fighter or a C130.

FWIW - I've worked with both rebase workflows and merge workflows. If you rebase a long lived branch what breaks is /your/ code not the rest of the codebase in a rebase workflow vs the opposite being true with merges.

FWIW - I was able to do this using a pocketbeagle. We even did this for a small run product where Octavo SIP exposed USB Serial and Ethernet via gadget, and then was a host on the USB1 side.

It's not uncommon to split front end and back end logic into modules. I've seen lots of projects where the business logic is even shared between a suite of applications. But it's very unusual to split it over an RPC/IPC
