As a sysadmin, I'll take systemd units over SysV init scripts any day. They tend to be shorter, more simple to read, and I don't have to worry about the race conditions or services not restarting correctly due to varying daemoniza

To be fair, Upstart was pretty awful in the early goings. It seems to be a lot more reliable and predictable now, but that's a fairly recent development for us (when we upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS).

I was pretty stoked to be able to buy two Nexus 5's for my wife and I, all for about the same price as a single iPhone. That was a huge deal to me. Got a premium phone at an affordable price. Spent the difference ($600) on other, more

Regardless of what ends up happening with the most popular distributions, there will always be another distro that will stick with something different or more antiquated for you to choose. You can even do it all yourself with something like

Was thinking the same thing. Especially with financial charts, it saves a lot of time eyeballing and guessing. Sure, you can look at the data source for the raw values, but I'd rather just hover my mouse over the points.

It's a shame that Python's time/date stuff is so wonky. I see stuff like dateutils and arrow and just wish I didn't have to go elsewhere for such core functionality. Not that it's a big deal to loop in external depe
