By all means tell me if/how I'm wrong but this video and it's gonzo-like interview style is something of journalistic beauty. The CEO chooses (or not chooses) to leave Meta's PR to the devices of his own megalomaniacal&#

I'm not so sure this was off topic. It was probably a joke, and not a bad or hurtful one. I giggled, and also subscribed to the podcast.

Anyone interested in this subject matter would be smart to consult Gaston Bachelard's seminal work 'Poetics of Space' For anyone creating in VR, this book should be required reading. But, I haven't heard anyone working i

You can make one of those by programming :) Jk jk, I don't even know how to do that myself. I am a very novice programmerbut mostly - 3D artist who comes here for these same reasons. Good comment threads are extremely rare these days

They do that when the idea is visual/geometrical or when they use an imaginative visual model to process it, which is one of the things we actually do with text. Text evolved specifically to assist with ideas images(glyphs) could not.

This comment is a fine example of how HN became an artist's (me) hideaway. Art related posts on HN rarely escape a dose of rational review that hardly exists anywhere else.

It's something along those lines. It looks like the music is all "cover songs" :( one of the heavier metadata types.

Granted I am a novice, but have been in film post production and vfx for a long time. I'm not very familiar with any GUIs thay truly reflect proprietary commands. Nonetheless, I agree. And if you find it, please share.

I was sorta hoping someone would offer their take on contributing or creating projects like this for their portfolio. I would be a little self-conscious of having a bunch of 'simplifier' tools in my small portfolio. Is this silly

Point taken! Thanks for the response. While I do have a hard time imagining me recommending this project to anyone (without instead opting for real git commands or gui) your comment encourages me to at least try imagining a future where thi

This does help me a lot to get this response. I personally actually love downloading and testing small tools and sometimes worry my search for better tools or the promise of better tools is a distraction. But, maybe this willingness to cont

I am new to programming (less than 1 year) and the insignificance of this project is obvious to me. This looks very well done, but my understanding is that a user friendly wrapper for such a ubiquitous programming tech with already widespre

As incredible as this technology is, the last thing modern art students need is more of is anti-social origin worship. This is a step back from media into medium, and a wholly worthless one in the context of contemporary art education. This

Yes, very misleading. How unfortunate that this is the article's launching point for navigating the difficult critical concept. I am not very familiar with Zelazny but am very familiar with accelerationism discourse and can therefore a

It's interesting seeing 'accelerationism' floating up to the hackernews crowd. Unfortunately, this article misses the lasting value of the theory in the arts where it flourishes as nothing short of an artistic movement. Accel

The 3 GPU renderers that matter are: V-Ray RT, Octane, Redshift CPU renderers are a different story but Arnold is right up there with V-Ray. CPU renderers are tried and true, reliable and robust. V-Ray is the only company making both CPU an

Either way, this has no effect. The 3D artists using GPU production rendering require at least 4 of the top of the line cards for their workstation. My workstation crams x5 980Tis in the case (2 off the board with PCIe risers). Joining the
