I see this a lot, too. "It's just 2 degrees" – what the hell is wrong with you? If your body temperature is 2-3 degrees above normal, you feel like absolute shit. Likewise for atmospheric CO₂ concentrations; "it's j

Of course not. I hate open floor plans. The same would apply if we were all in individual offices. What matters is physical proximity allowing for impromptu informal conversations.

Kinda off-topic, but am I the only one who's experience brain rot from not being able to go poke a colleague on the shoulder and head off to a separate room and have a loose semi-relevant conversation about some work topic (with umptee

At least there is work on greatly generalizing convolutions. They're much more broadly applicable (in neural networks) to very differently structured data than they appear to be in their standard form. (The "in neural networks&quo

I agree that midgame is a bit of a slog: the most generic events, plus you're typically dominating the computer players. The for former, the Khan and L-cluster stuff have helped a bit (don't know if that was added before or after

Consider yourself warned: all Paradox games are highly addictive drugs. What you must have experienced with Stellaris is representative of most their games. EU IV is indeed a good choice if you liked Stellaris (I usually explain Stellaris t

Your raising of your own children is none of my business, but I'm curious: how do you think that being raised while constantly tracked affects the child later on in life? My personal armchair worry is that it makes them likely to accep

Which is great . It decouples responsibilities. WG gives you a secure, well-performing tunnel. Key management is outside its scope. There are many solutions to that problem, no point in forcing a "WG sanctioned" one on people.
