Usually, when there's smoke there's fire. For example, until now I haven't complained about Twilio or AirBnB despite having major issues with both recently. Most of us stay quiet and just switch vendors. People complaining on

I disagree. American people and sites oscillate between moralism (generally) and prurience (maybe only on the left), and I'd prefer those that are designed as technical platforms to do less editorializing. Not everyone shares a moral c

Totally. Just takes a tiny number of problem users to cause major problems. In this case maybe it could have been handled better by temporarily blocking that repo instead of the whole account, since it was clearly a legitimate dev doing wor

Do we really want Github regulating links in repos based purely on the moral instincts of random support employees? Seems weird. It's just a link, and not even to illegal content (AFAIK, I didn't actually follow them).

This is obviously great for workers and competition. It's actually good for companies too, even if they are too short sighted to realize it. See: silicon valley.

As someone from a dense city with generally smaller roads than NYC (Philly), I think that's untrue. If NYC wanted to do it, it could be done. In Philly, trucks make it down alleys where the roadway is half the size of the truck. Or the

I think this is needed tbh. My fortune 10 company regularly pays our bills after the pay period - like 60 days late on a net 30. And then I, a technical person that just wants the damn AWS bill paid so I stop getting emailed about it, have

You missed the point, which is that these pronouns are explicitly never used when speaking to you. They are not used for addressing you. They are in reference to you, so they will only occur when other people are speaking to one other.

I wasn't advocating for a position, just explaining that they clearly lead (or led) in two big technological advances. It depends on what the company's core value proposition is. Toyota's is clearly a car company. Tesla is no

TSMC is a public company. Last news I see shows a drop to 73% of the company being foreign-owned. The biggest shareholders are American. It might be more accurate to say it's an American company that operates in Taiwan.
