platform.twitter.com runs on akamai. Maybe there is a problem with the russian akamai mirror(s)? I don't know if facebook and stumbleupon use akamai, too.

Ok, I see. I live in germany, where the tax is already included (a 99 cent coin would be really efficient here).

Maybe he should take into account that in the real world most prices are xy.99, this might change stipulation 2.

I know, but does the difference really justify the news? 2 TB isn't that much.
488.
by growt 16y ago
our hoster charges around 7 euros per TB (and I think they still make a cut). So that would be 20 Eur this costumer is costing them (for a plan that is at least 30 Eur), hardly newsworthy.

Yes it is trolling, so please stop it. If this thread gets started on each and every post that is somehow related to PHP it doesn't add to the discussion. Go write the same thing in Ruby or Erlang or whatever if you can't stand the idea of

I founded a startup with two guys who were looking for a cofounder. And we are doing just fine. You need a complementary team, but it's very rare that tech guys hang out with business guys. So most often the only choice is to go and search

You're right, they are unethical and they face some problems at the moment. In germany swoopo is laying of 50% of their staff and dealstreet closed. The main problem is, that their "customers" never come back once they've been ripped of.

I wrote something similar for chrome a while ago: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/edooipcjkkbjmnog... It's a little bit more lightweight (not in respect to memory usage maybe).

Maybe they oversimplified what they do for the blog post, but that doesn't really sound professional to me.

So if this picture is (mostly) real, like some of the comments suggest: Is it common practice to view video feeds in excel? I don't say it's not possible, I just imagine that it wouldn't be stable or practical.

see: "huge antenna lab" + "antenna sucks" = "lab is useless" just basic math, no degree needed (although I have one ;))
503.
by growt 16y ago
So if this not just FUD. I wonder why all these companies obviously put the antenna in the wrong place. If your hand affects the signal strength through the case, you shouldn't put the antenna at the bottom of the phone, because that is whe

Hands on, yes. But "notable"? It's really a fuzzy criteria. I mean would you still know Gates for MS Basic if he didn't succeed with Microsoft?
505.
by growt 16y ago
I agree. Is Bill Gates really a notable programmer? A notable business man and a notable altruist, yes. But a programmer?

by growt 16y ago
Apple's insanely cool - but useless - antenna testing lab.

So, from a scientific point of view, the conclusion is: their model of the real world is wrong. It wouldn't suprise me, I've never seen so many blue spikes in one place ;)
